Kt Bruce

Kt at work

Being photographed by Kt is a pleasure. Unlike most photographers I’ve experienced, she treats the activity like a form of communication between two people, rather than a technical exercise.

Sir Philip Pullman

Kt Bruce has the ability to bring out the best in her subjects and create a relaxed atmosphere. She produces pictures that capture the emotions of the day. She has been described as an ‘animator’ and brings out the best in her subjects, especially those who are camera-shy. Her work is highly sought-after and she has an extensive portfolio.

Kt is the festival photographer for the FT Oxford Literary Festival, Blenheim Palace Festival of Literature, Film and Music, the Gibunco Gibraltar Festival and Rye Jazz and Arts Festivals. She is an integral part of the team of each event and well respected.

Kt worked with the former Archbishop of Canterbury as his press photographer during his visit to Oxfordshire and with David Cameron. Other notable faces were the Her Majesty the Queen, Princess Royal and other members of the Royal family, Michele Obama, Jane Williams, PD James, William Fiennes, Celia John Humphries and Edna O'Brien. One of her favourite commissions was when she was invited to photograph the Queen at Buckingham Palace for the Bodleian Library. Kt was invited to cover the first Bloxham Faith Festival for the Church Times and because of her success has been invited back each year.

Kt's diary has continued to be full of interesting commissions. She works on location or in her studio and covers events, weddings, conferences, new-born children, family portraiture, portraits of artists, musicians and actors.

She teams up with her husband for weddings and they blend an unobtrusive approach with a subtle formality, creating vivid memories of that special event.

Kt is Press Officer for the RNLI based at Rye Harbour lifeboat station and has been commissioned by the RNLI to work with Jack Lowe
